Learn how to use your breath for cleansing by directing your breath to areas of the body where you have tension, pain, or other distress. Use your exhale to release this. Eucalyptus complements this work by helping you direct the breath and clearing out what is not in harmony with God.
This is a breathing technique taught to me by my husband, David Gamble-Moore, in his healing work. Hope you find it useful!
Self-Reflection:
When you are doing this meditation, check what is coming up in you against the fruit of the spirit.
Scriptural Reference for Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5: 22-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
If it isn't in harmony with the spirit, release it. If its persistent take it to God for refinement. This is the ego and what is described in scripture as being in the flesh. The ego and the flesh is contrary to the Spirit.
Galatians 5:16-17
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want.
Developing the self-control & discipline that is referenced in the fruit of God's spirit is a gift that comes from God. It ultimately draws you away from the tricks and temptations of the ego and closer to God.
You can't eliminate the flesh and the ego. You can receive God's help in developing the discipline to not let it rule you. This is abiding in the spirit and not the flesh & developing practices of living in the spirit as opposed to practices that get you stuck in habits of sin.
Prayer:
God, I praise you for the bounty & blessing of your Spirit that is in all of Creation, the breath of life that you give me & how you affirm my life just as I look to you in this moment, in this one breath. I pray that you refine me to live and abide in your spirit that I may bear much fruit as your love and life flow through me. I pray that others look to me and see You. Please affirm what is in harmony with You and Your will in my life. Thank you. Amen.
